Winsor Kinkade works in oil and acrylic both en plein air and in the studio. Their scenes reflect moments of lived experience in nature.
Growing up in Northern California, Winsor was inspired by their natural surroundings and mentored by Winsor’s father, artist Thomas Kinkade. From a young age, Winsor and their dad would venture into the wild to sketch, paint, and explore. Winsor would watch their dad work at his easel, placing them on his lap and having them paint a few leaves on the trees or ripples in the stream. “Each stroke counts,” he’d say. Winsor has taken that advice into their own work, and it has influenced them to recognize that every stroke, line, and intention makes a difference. They often returned home with poison oak, new stories, and fresh inspiration.
Winsor’s current body of landscape works includes a variety of palettes and locations, each selected out of breathtaking awe and child-like curiosity.
