Orgs We Love at KFF

As the holiday season comes to a close, the Kinkade Family Foundation is taking a deep breath and spending a few moments to reflect on the past few months. One of the overwhelming sentiments that arises while looking back on the holidays is a sense of gratitude. We feel so thankful to have had the opportunity to work with several outstanding organizations this year, and during the holidays, we chose four of these organizations to support as a way to say ‘thank you’ for all they have done throughout the year! In the spirit of gratitude for these organizations, we’d like to share a little bit about each of these organizations that have inspired us and touched our hearts.

Creativity Explored provides people with developmental disabilities the opportunity express themselves creatively through art and share their work with the community. They support studio artists in becoming self-employed visual artists and pursuing a livelihood through the sale of their artwork. The Creativity Explored gallery in San Francisco hosts six exhibitions per year which feature different studio artists’ work. Come to the next event to meet the wonderful artists, check out the inspiring studio, and bring home a memorable piece of artwork! We hope to see you there.

Women’s Global Empowerment Fund supports women in northern Uganda through economic, social, and political programs. Using grassroots strategies, WGEF addresses inequality and strengthens the community by giving marginalized women the tools necessary to empower themselves and alleviate poverty. With programs ranging from microcredit services, literacy coaching, and agricultural loans and training, WGEF has consistently taken action to support women in their personal and professional growth. We love their unwavering belief that building up women helps build up the community.

Casa Generación protects and defends the basic human rights of children, adolescents, and families who live in the streets of Perú. Through programs that offer long-term housing, hot meals, education, and social advocacy, Casa Generación works to empower individuals in their personal, social, and political growth. For the last 30 years, Casa Generación has advanced the participation, access, and voice of individuals in their communities where their voices have been marginalized. Casa Generación is very dear to our hearts at the Kinkade Family Foundation, and we are so happy to continue to partner with them in 2019!

Cityteam meets the needs of individuals in the US who are displaced, homeless, or facing extreme poverty. Their Heritage Home program in San Jose, California helps pregnant women overcome homelessness, addiction, and other hardships while becoming loving mothers to their newborn babies. Heritage Home provides for the women’s physical needs in addition to their emotional, professional, and spiritual needs. We are partnering with Cityteam on an exciting new project this upcoming year, so stay tuned!

We feel so appreciative that these organizations (and the innumerable other organizations out in the world) work so tirelessly to create an impact in the lives of fellow humans.

Also, we’d like to take this time to thank you, our supporters and friends, for believing in our work and the work of organizations like the ones mentioned above. YOU inspire us!

From the Kinkade Family Foundation, we’d like to say thank you so much, and we hope you have a very happy 2019!

Cheers, Winsor
